Darn good questions, if I do say so myself, and maybe after watching a couple of my video offerings you are thinking these same questions. Heck you might even be wondering if I have both oars in the water, if you know what I mean. ; ) Thats OK, over the years, lots of folks have wondered about that. Let me just say that I have always been interested in visual communication- Photography and especially, in the last 10-15 years or so, videography . I have been to so many interesting and neat place on this planet and I have always had the desire to share the experience with others. The problem has been I never really felt like I had the skills to capture these fantastic images in a way that others would want to spend their time watching. I mean is there anything worse than having to sit through somebody's home video of the vacation they just got back from, or worse yet, little Suzie's 3rd birthday party. Tell me, am I wrong? Go ahead... Speak up. Well anyway, I think that all changed a few months ago when I attended the Travel Channel Academy (TCA info here). It was held in Los Angles California, it was an intensive course taught by a media guru named Michael Rosenblum. Mr. Rosenblum has apparently, had a vision- an inspired manifestation from a higher power and he is out to change the world as we know it; or at least as we view it on television and especially on the Internet. He is passionate about getting the word out to any and all who will listen, or in my case PAY to listen. The BBC and various other networks/stations around the world are listening to him as he offers a way for them to attract new viewers and save the sinking ship, which is the state of todays TV business. This was just what a "hick" (hick = uncultured, not very sophisticated, fearful of chasing a somewhat unorthodox dreams, person) from Arizona, who has some sort of innate desire to tell stories visually, needed. At some point during the TC Academy there was a loud "CLICK" or was it a "CLUNK"? in my head, audible to me and maybe those who were seated next to me as synaptic gears meshed and my thinking shifted. The possibilities began to unfold before my eyes.. It really took hold of me, the idea that I could do this, I could actually make watchable video and perhaps, down the road, even get paid for doing it. So, what is this web site all about? Its simply a place for me to showcase my videos. You see, I want to be a Huell Howser of sorts, only better (Who or what the heck is a Huell Houser? Click Here) I want to be "the guy" who is out there observing and experiencing interesting things and capturing the moment on tape so they can be shared with others. Thats it, nothing more... and if this all works out and somehow the stars align and the Great God in Heaven approves my humble little plan, then, maybe, just maybe I can feel a sense of satisfaction that has been missing thus far in my life and in some small way humanity will have been served.
